We’re pleased to announce the release of Langeroo version 1.3 which went live yesterday morning.
This version is a result of direct feedback from our teachers and experts who suggested that we made improvements to the fonts within the games and activities.
Before today, we were using Arial which is a common font widely used in reports, presentations, magazines and newspapers. It is a standard font in educational textbooks and has become so popular as it contains more humanist characteristics than many of its predecessors (such as Times New Roman which was widely used before it).
The problem with the font within education is predominantly the letter “a” as it does not fit in with the way that pupils are taught to write the letter and, therefore, may appear unfamiliar to younger children.
Version 1.3 rectifies this and we have amended every text field within every game and activity to Gill Sans Schoolbook.
What you’ll notice is a more natural font within every singe one of our games.
There have also been some minor updates, mostly with UI, in the activities and games.
Version 1.3 is available today to all our subscribers and for free trial users.
As always, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions for future developments. You’ll find our contact details here.
